The Festival Marquee on Millennium Square kicks off   this year’s Big City Jazz festival with a jam packed programme of traditional, contemporary and exclusively commissioned performances. With affordable ticket prices, a ‘Pimm’s’ outdoor garden area and specially mixed cocktails / professional bar service provided by Bar Sandinista available all throughout the weekend, make sure you book now to reserve your place!

This year you can enjoy salsa twinned with soul and gospel vibes courtesy of Alex Wilson and his 12-piece Salsa Con Soul Orchestra on the Friday evening. Saturday is a tribute to Blue Note Records featuring Christine Tobin and specially commissioned work just for Big City Jazz. On Sunday there are two sets, the afternoon slot is The Temperance Seven and Alan Gresty and Brian White Ragtimers Jazz Band with an evening performance from one the country’s leading jazz vocalists Jacqui Dankworth.

There will also be fringe events taking place all around the city, including the waterfront, between Friday 21 and Monday 31 August.
