A high quality community youth Jazz Rock Band performing a range of styles including Jazz, Swing, Latin, Funk and Pop.

Jamil Sheriff’s Matinee Project
Renowned for his two Octet albums, Daydreams and Backchat, Jamil is now embarking on a smaller ensemble — the Matinee Project featuring some of his newest compositions. Expect fun music with great solos.

The Blue Note Project
Led by trombonist Nick Mills, this award winning collaboration has been commissioned exclusively for this year’s Big City Jazz featuring Dave O’Higgins, Martin Shaw and Kit Downes to celebrate 70 years of Blue Note Records. Expect to hear classics from the vaults of Blue Note, concentrating on the 50s and 60s period playing homage to artistes such as Art Blakey, Wayne Shorter, Joe Henderson and many more. - 8.00–9.15pm
